Time to stop brainlessly following along peeps. I see so many people always commenting negative stuff or trolling when they see something they’ve not seen before, can’t do, or don’t understand.
What is CrossFit? CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Straight from the horse’s mouth. If you would be doing this day in day out, you’d run yourself into the ground. Point being, you also need to focus on other things like mobility, core, strength, technique etc. and you’re not going to get that with just barbells, plain and simple.
What is functional? Functional training attempts to adapt or develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries. To me this whole functional thing is overdone, I understand what it was meant to be when the term just became popular, but the real meaning was lost over time. Truly functional is not at all what it’s believed to be these days.
But.. if we just go along with the above definition, then just about anything is functional to someone at some stage.
The truth of the matter is, if someone high up says it’s good, you’ll be doing it in no time, and all of a sudden it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
My point is. Open your mind, CrossFit is not just barbells, pull-ups, burpees, and handstands. CrossFit is everything that’s good. And just about everything is good for someone at some stage in their fitness journey. Stop bitching, start communication more, start asking questions, start answering questions, learn from each other, don’t bitch and make fun of each other. Be the community online, as you are offline. ??

PS. this was aimed at the CrossFit community because I wrote it as a post for the CrossFit WOD group, but applies to any fitness community.
