Social media is full of videos of people tyre flipping with shocking technique. Many people out there (I believe most actually) “muscle” it, meaning they lift it using their biceps. That’s fine when it’s a small tyre but do that with a big one and you’re setting yourself up for a biceps tear. NOT COOL.
The Kettlebell Sportstyle Swing is always done with one arm, never with two arms like you see used with the swing that most people are used to, the conventional kettlebell swing. There is a very valid reason why Sport Athletes don’t do the sportstyle swing with two arms, and that reason is; it doesn’t transfer to anything in the sport, i.e. Snatch, Clean or Jerk. Every kettlebell exercise used in competition is performed with one arm, hence there is no reason to do the sportstyle swing with two arms.
I think it’s a lot of bull to justify the American Swing with it being more natural to complete the movement, if that is the case, then why do deadlifts at all, why not complete it with a clean or snatch? Hold your horses, just because I don’t agree with the above, does not mean I don’t like the American Swing, I’m just saying the above is bull to justify it.
