Physical Tests
Keep your physical tests in mind if your level has any. From the moment of course enrollment you should plan for your test(s), whether that is form, technique, flexibility, strength, or endurance, start planning.
For form, you want to focus on flexibility, strength, and MMC.
For technique, you want to focus on understanding and replicating the techniques demonstrated.
For flexibility, you want to start incorporating stretches that target the calves, hamstrings, quadriceps, hips, and even thoracic spine.
For strength, you want to start incorporating deadlifts. Low reps and set with a focus on full control under the best form and technique possible. Gradually and intelligently increasing the load by listening to how your body recovers.
For endurance, you want to increase your muscular and cardiovascular endurance. For muscular endurance you want to gradually increase the number of repetitions you can do. For cardiovascular endurance, you want to gradually increase the duration you can work for while your heart rate is up, and you want to increase the duration that you can work within high intensity.
Plan
Plan by identifying your current state, your weaknesses, your goals, the time you have available, and start scheduling. Don’t be afraid to adjust the schedule as you become more in tune with your body and what you need to do. Don’t be afraid to just get started at the shallow end, this is not something you jump into at the deep end.
