Clean Basics

The clean is used as a movement to transition to a set of other exercises that require the kettlebell to be racked, like the squat, or go from racked to overhead, like the shoulder press.

It is also used as a combination of several exercises, in kettlebell sport this is a long cycle, i.e. adding a clean on to an exercise. In kettlebell sport, this is never more than 2 exercises, but outside the sport the combinations and possibilities are infinite.

Last but not least, the clean is also used as an exercise on its own, for example, 50 double Kettlebell Hang Cleans as a set, like those in the Quicksilver workout (a golden oldie).
