Corkscrew Grip

Grip: Same as the double hand grip but with the horns between the pinkie and ring fingers.

Ideal for: double-arm swings and American swings

This is a grip I started using when doing heavy high-volume swings during the Cavemantraining 28-Day Kettlebell Swing Challenge, which I like to call the Double Hand Corkscrew Grip, because it’s very similar to a grip on a corkscrew.

When holding a corkscrew, the screw itself will be positioned between the middle finger and ring finger, but with the kettlebell the horn will be positioned between the ring finger and pinkie. Everything from the Double Hand Grip transfers to this grip. I like to use this grip to switch it up, but also because I have big hands and usually need to put my pinkies over the handles with the Double Hand Grip.

With this grip, I feel that my fingers are less squashed. It is very important to wrap your pinkies around the horn to prevent them from getting caught in your clothes during the swing. This grip also provides more stability at the top of the American Swing and helps prevent skin tears on the outside of the pinkie.
